Overview

Vaulting Plus is a managed service that protects production servers when the Maximum Tolerable Outage for those servers is over a day. The protected server is completely imaged and then regular block level updates maintains sync between new data created on the protected machine and the image retained on an appliance based in your office. In addition to the office based backup, the images and updates are also mirrored at enterprise class data centres.

How does Vaulting Plus keep my business running?

Vaulting Plus is a comprehensive tool that protects your data and systems from a full range of risks. Recovery of files, folders or databases can be achieved from either the latest update or from an earlier version. Upgrading disks on your servers or updating a complete machine becomes a time efficient and orderly task by using the images from the local backup appliance. And should a disruptive event require the replacement of a destroyed server, our team of engineers will work with you to transfer up-to-date images to new servers from backup appliances delivered within 24 hours from the data centre. The final feature of the service allows for the recovery of end of month archives that can be used as a resource for regulatory compliance or legal issues.

How does Vaulting Plus differ from Hi-5?

While Hi-5 offers recovery from server failure in minutes, Vaulting Plus is a less expensive service  designed for companies that can tolerate a slower recovery process. When a Vaulting Plus customer suffers the failure of a server the recovery process is to transfer the latest image of the failed server onto replacement hardware provided by the client. The speed of the recovery is dictated by how quickly the damaged production server can be replaced. During a disaster recovery when replacement production servers are sourced, the Vaulting Plus images are brought from the data centre and transferred onto that new hardware. Once again the speed of the recovery is dependent on when the replacement servers can be sourced.
