System replication
For many businesses, data and system recovery is a critical necessity. These include accounting and payroll services, finance companies and medical services, to name but a few.

There are commonly three types of service available to provide for this need - and they all come at a price.

1. Services that utilise offsite backup of some kind for disaster recovery are coupled with data stored locally. In this way the local copies are used as a recovery source, except in extreme circumstances.
2. It’s possible to cobble together a solution based on an offsite backup service and backup to a local NAS device (network attached storage device) or even tape.
3. At the top end is system replication. While it offers the benefits of backup coupled with a full copy of your whole IT system in another location, full system replication is a very expensive solution.

In addition to the costs of software, hardware and extensive bandwidth, system replication involves doubling your cost any time you purchase new equipment or add to your server infrastructure; it also doubles the cost in operating systems and software licensing. 
And finally, the quality of the result is dependent on how well the system is managed. Partnering with an experienced provider will definitely improve the result when you need to rely on the system.
