Case Study 1: Six-desk estate agency
The challenge
This growing estate agency had just acquired a server after running on a peer-to-peer network where everyone stored files on their own computers.
Data included pictures of properties, listing details, business projections, spreadsheets and a CRM system: about 10Gb in all and growing. There was no consistent backup policy. Some people stored important work on keychain drives; most just averted their eyes and didn’t think about it.
The solution
The MD recognised that a consistent external backup process had become a necessity, and that it was unlikely he would be able to manage the system internally. The company’s IT advisor recommended offsite backup by DataFort.
The outcome

The challenge
A successful four-desk surveying company with 30Gb of data to backup, including reports, Word docs, photographs and CAD drawings, all of which are indispensible.

The challenge

The mid-project loss of a computer in an airport made it painfully clear that the current backup strategy was inadequate.
